The ongoing decimation of local journalism in Rockingham County by the money-losing Media General Company continues with the announcement that the Reidsville Review and the Eden Daily News will now publish only twice weekly, down from its current printing of 5x weekly.
I guess that means the Eden DAILY NEWS is not so daily, huh?

Dear reader,
Beginning March 28, The Reidsville Review and the Eden Daily News will launch new, all local formats, designed to give readers and advertisers more of what they cannot get anywhere else - in-depth news of our communities and the people who make them so special.
The two newspapers will be published on Wednesdays and Sundays. The newspapers will focus specifically on expanded coverage of local news and sports, community calendars and the events most likely to impact your lives.
You will read more about your neighbors, the new developments taking place as the region grows and the area’s colorful history. We will tell these stories in compelling ways so that you find the Review and Daily News the “must read” newspapers in your life.
Customers will receive a Sunday, March 28 paper and then a Wednesday paper on April 1. We will continue to provide breaking news coverage on our Web site, GoDanRiver.com.
As part of this change, new subscription rates will be $49 and current subscribers will have their renewals extended, to reflect the new lower rates. If you have questions about your account, call us at 1-800-323-2951. The papers will continue to be delivered to homes, businesses and outlets throughout the area.
We value our subscribers and are happy to talk with them about our products, these changes and our communities. Feel free to call us at any time.
